The Pilgrimage…

I’ve never been a  part of any pilgrimage or any sort of an august gathering. Quite honestly, i have neither understood nor appreciated the purpose of one. I was witness to one few days back however, as a part of an NGO. This are some of my captures of Trimbakeshwar and the humble, loving people!… 🙂

Among the many things that made the afternoon memorable, was the revelation that FAITH is the force that keeps every pilgrim going… Faith that He’s there to care for us so can make this journey being unworried, faith that it’s going to be worth it, faith that our devotion would be understood and our pains would be rewarded. May be i don’t share the same faith or perspective as them, or do anything radical owing to it, but i don’t get to question it either. Because however independent we may think of ourselves to be, in reality we all need some force to rely upon, the strength that assures us it’ll be alright…. I just haven’t found my source as yet…

So as we’re driving away from Trimbakeshwar, the structures start to fade in the backdrop and the tiny sun is reflected in the rear-view mirror…. while another group of pilgrims is walking towards their destination….

  1. “…Because however independent we may think of ourselves to be, in reality we all need some force to rely upon, the strength that assures us it’ll be alright…. I just haven’t found my source as yet…” Good one and very apt!

One basically needs to belong to ‘Something’. That’s why there are religions and communities within that, or to go to the base level, ‘groups of friends’ . :).

Very good pictures, the first one is neatly composed.
